Durant Wilmot
Barnesville . . . Durant Wilmot passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Barnesville First United Methodist Church with burial in Lamar Memory Gardens. Rev. Steve Davidson and Horace Pippin will officiate. The family will greet friends the day of the service from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Durant, the son of the late Plumer Durant Wilmot, Sr. and Lula Vivian McFarlin Wilmot was born February 18, 1931, in Carnesville, Georgia. He was a graduate of Franklin County High School and attended Piedmont College. Durant was the founder of Upson Memorial Gardens, Meriwether Memory Gardens, Lamar Memory Gardens and Monroe Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Keadle Wilmot of Barnesville, children. Kaye (Ron) Anglin of Molena and Susan (Billy) Peyton of Thomaston, sisters, Madeline Goodlett of Gainesville, Florida and Nettie Ben Cash of Mt. Airy, Georgia and four grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or the family suggests donations to Barnesville First United Methodist Church, 375 Thomaston Street, Barnesville, Ga 30204 or to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Suite 1, Marietta, GA 30067.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
