John Charles Hassler passed away in Douglasville, Georgia on May 25, 2014. He was born on October 9, 1963 in Florence, Alabama. He attended Carrollton High School and received his high school diploma from Cedartown Adult Education School System. He studied hair design at Vidal Sassoon School in Santa Monica, California and became part owner of a Buckhead Atlanta Hair Salon. John was a hair stylist in Carrollton, Atlanta and Douglasville, Georgia for almost thirty years.
He was predeceased by his father, Charles Farris Hassler; his grandparents, Paul and Ruth Chapman of Forsyth and Farris and Evelyn Hassler of Dalton, Georgia; and his aunt, Jane Cary Chapman Peck of Williamstown, Massachusetts.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Hassler, his children, Michael Hassler, Dorian Hassler and Dylan Hassler; his mother, Ruth Chapman Ham (Benson); his sister, Carolyn Farley (Ken) of Galestown, Maryland and his step-siblings, Carol Jenkins (Curtis) Phil Ham (Dana), Jim Ham (Lydia), Wendie Britt (Bill) and Hollie Wangerin (Kevin).
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2014, at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens in Forsyth, Georgia. Rev. Ken Stephens will officiate.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
