Asa Banks Stuart
Forsyth . . . Asa Banks Stuart passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Rogers United Methodist Church with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. Reverend H. Eugene Barlow and Sonny Rogers will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2014, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Stuart, the son of the late Ben Hill Stuart and Emmie Mae Banks Stuart, was born May 14, 1921, in Forsyth, Georgia. He was a retired dairy farmer. Mr. Stuart was a former Police Chief for the City of Forsyth, and also superintendent for the streets and sanitation department for the City of Forsyth. He was the eldest member of Rogers United Methodist Church, a Mason and a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ethel Stuart of Forsyth, son, Ben A. (Evelyn) Stuart of Macon, grandchildren, Ben Stuart, Jr. of Warner Robins and Barry (Carolyn) Stuart of Macon and five great grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or the family suggests donations to Rogers United Methodist Church, c/o Kathy Ivey, 636 Gregory Road, Forsyth, GA 31029.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
