Virginia Ellis Griffin

Virginia Ellis Griffin passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at her home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014, at Monroe Memorial Gardens. Major Matt Griffin will officiate. The family will greet friends the day of the service at 1:00 p.m. until service time at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Griffin, the daughter of the late Lee Andrew Ellis and Gussie Fielder Stuart Ellis was born December 23, 1927, in Forsyth, Georgia. She was retired owner and operator of Fashionaire Beauty Salon. Her husband, Ben H. Griffin, Jr. and her son, Ronnie Griffin preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Mike (Emily) Griffin of Fort Valley, grandchildren, Rhonda (Keith) Hardy of Macon, Sheri Castro-Poveda of Macon, Kelli (Dan) Banister of Rome, Matt (Nicole) Griffin of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Virginia Griffin of Forsyth, great grandchildren, Kendall Hardy, Griffin Hardy, Marla Castro-Poveda, Ben Castro-Poveda, Maggie Banister, Cale Griffin and Alec Griffin. The family may be contacted at the residence, 25 Mornside Drive, Forsyth, GA 31029, after the service. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
