Barbara Helene Friday Rumble, beloved wife of Thomas R. Rumble, died suddenly on September 29, 2013. She is survived by son Thomas R. Rumble, Jr. (Colleen) of Marietta, Georgia, daughter Elizabeth Lynn Dubinett (Mat) of Allison Park Pennsylvania and grandsons Andrew Thomas Dubinett and Thomas Powers Rumble; by brothers John A. Friday III (Susan) of O’Hara Township Pennsylvania, their children Chris, John and Andrew and by Charles W. Friday (Kathy) of Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania and their children Charlie, John and Katie; by sisters-in-law Genevieve Miller of Forsyth, Georgia, Colleen Rumble of Bradfordwoods, Pennsylvania, and Angela Irvine of Cheswick, Pennsylvania, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Pittsburgh area.
An avid dog trainer and former grouse hunter, she was more recently involved with the Macon Kennel Club training her cherished shelties Lucy & Duke in obedience and rally. She is survived there by her dear friend Judy Carrigan and fellow club members.
She had served actively in the Friends of the Library in Monroe County Georgia and is survived there by her dear friend Linda Sherman. She was an avid gardener and an active member of the Wesleyan Woods Garden Club in Macon, Georgia, and is survived by numerous friends there, especially Betty Ragland.
She grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, daughter of deceased parents John A. Friday, Jr. and Helene Whitehill Friday. She graduated from the Fox Chapel High School, attended Marymount College in Arlington, VA and worked briefly as a respiratory technician at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh on October 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to:
