William Walter Hughes, Jr. Barnesville . . . William Walter Hughes, Jr., 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 22, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Barnesville, Georgia, with burial in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Reverend Garth A. Forster will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Walter Hughes was born March 14, 1928, in Cobb County, Georgia to Emma and Walter Hughes. He was the oldest of five children. He was retired from CIGNA Insurance Company and was a veteran of the United States Marines. He was originally from Dunwoody, Georgia, moving to Barnesville in 1996 and has made his home there for the last seventeen years. Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Virginia Hughes of Barnesville; three children, Trini Hughes of Barnesville, Brian (Kelly) Hughes of Barnesville and Mark (Susan) Hughes of Dacula; nine grandchildren, Keely Poore, Justin (Brittany) Poore, Megan (Jody) Osborne, Ron Brazas, Matthew ( Jolee) Hughes, Hollie Brazas, Jared Hughes, Hunter Hughes and Hayley Hughes; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Harley) Kimmons of Cumming and Barbara (Marion) Worley of Cumming; one brother, Don (Myrland) Hughes of Dallas. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
