Mable J. Wright Goodrum
Winchester, KY . . . . Mable J. Wright Goodrum, 89, Winchester, KY, widow of the late T. Milner Goodrum, passed away quietly on June 20, 2013 in Lexington, KY. Ms. Goodrum was born in Houston County, GA, the daughter of the late C. L. Wilson, Sr. and Flossie Wilson Harper.
While residing in Macon, GA, she was employed at Herin’s Grocery and Davison’s Dept. store; she was employed for 26 years as a Fabric Development Coordinator for the William Carter Co., Needham, MA and retired in 1989. Ms. Goodrum was a member of Gold Star Wives of America, VFW Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 345 of Macon, GA, NAMI, and Zion Hill Baptist Church in Jonesboro, GA.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jesse W. Wright, her sister, Myrtle Goodrum, her brothers, Raymond W. Wilson and C.L. Wilson, Jr. and stepfather, Henry G. Harper.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda W. Harrington (Heyward T.), Winchester, KY, and stepson, Thomas M. Goodrum, Jr., Newton, MA; four grandchildren, H. T. “Tee” Harrington, Jr., Winchester, KY, C. Blayne Harrington (Rita) Rutledge, GA, Thad W. Harrington (Amber) Indian Trail, NC and Jessica H. Thomas (Brian) Winchester, KY; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 24, 2013, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, 86 West Main Street, Forsyth, Georgia with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
