Freddy Lyle Chapman passed away at his home in Macon, Georgia, on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the young age of 64. He earned many medals throughout his U.S. Army service career from 1967 to 1987, and was involved in the Vietnam War, retiring as a 1stSG.
Fred was an excellent cook and we will miss the many wonderful, savory meals prepared grillside, along with his colorful stories and unmatched sense of humor.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, Hank and Thelma Boone Leslie, Fred Chapman and Barbara Chapman. Surviving siblings are brothers, Joel Leslie and Terry Chapman; and sister, Alexis (Fisher) Leslie.
He leaves behind a loving family of daughters, Cindy Chapman (Joe) Cherry, Kelly Chapman, Tammy Foster and Jennifer Milburn; and sons, Allen Milburn and Todd Chapman; along with seven beautiful grandchildren. Also surviving is his loving companion of many years, Anne Stone, and the Stone family.
There will be a celebration of his life at a future date to be announced.
