Charles Augustus Lindbergh Garnto
Forsyth . . . Charles Augustus Lindbergh Garnto died Friday, May 3, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2013, at Forsyth First Baptist Church with burial at 5:00 p.m. in Northview Cemetery, Dublin, Georgia. Dr. H. Darrell Watson will officiate. The family will greet friends at 1:00 p.m., Monday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Garnto, the son of the late Ira Thurman and Laura Martin Garnto was born May 26, 1927, in Brewton, Georgia. He was retired owner and operator of Forsyth Auto Parts, opened 1957. Mr. Garnto was a member of Forsyth First Baptist Church, a member of the Joy Sunday School Class, a member of the Brotherhood, a member of Woodmen of the World and a member of the Forsyth Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia H. Garnto of Forsyth, children, Charles Dean (Karen) Garnto of Buford, Glenda (J.C.) Todd of Fayetteville, Larry Garnto of Forsyth and Gerald Garnto of Progreso, Yucatan, Mexico, brother, Albert (Janice) Garnto of Dublin, sister in law, Edith Garnto of Dublin, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and six nieces.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to First Baptist Church Renovation Project, 95 West Morse Street, Forsyth, GA 31029.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
