Hazel Lee Mason Mitchell Forsyth . . . Hazel Lee Mason Mitchell died Thursday, April 25, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Monroe Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Scott Harrell will officiate. The family will greet friends at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Mitchell, the daughter of the late Grover Layfette and Thelma Roper Mason was born May 14, 1935, in Nantahala, North Carolina. She retired from William Carter Company after thirty-five years of service. Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Lee Mitchell of Forsyth, daughter, Sherrie (Jeffrey) Costa of Atlanta, sisters, Kathleen Phillips of Omaha, Georgia, Clara Bell (Jack) Riley of Oxford, Georgia and Judy (Mike) Thomas of Forsyth and brother, Steve (Dena) Mason of Yatesville. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
