Philip Leon Corbin
Forsyth . . . Philip Leon Corbin died Thursday, March 14, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Russellville Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Jered W. Day and Dr. Grover Tyner will officiate. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Corbin, the son of the late Walter Columbus Corbin and Jewel Beatrice Sellers Corbin was born August 19, 1928, in Jasper, Georgia. His brothers, Thurman Franklin Corbin and Garland A. Corbin, Sr. preceded him in death. Mr. Corbin was a graduate of Lake City Community College. He was retired owner and operator of Philip Corbin Electronics, a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during World War II, and a member of SEBA Association, American Legion and Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Corbin of Forsyth, children, Allen (Debby) Corbin of Lake City, Florida and Patricia (Bruce) Graben of Nicholasville, Kentucky, grandchildren, Brandy (Tucker) Lemley, Lance Corbin and Travis Corbin of Lake City Florida and great grandchild, Lia Belle Lemley.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Thomaston Hospice Foundation, 316 West Gordon Street, Thomaston, GA 30286.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
