Irene Cox Eddie Taylorsville, Georgia . . . Irene Cox Eddie died Saturday, February 9, 2013. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m., February 13, 2013, with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m., at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel, 1315 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, Alabama with burial in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Chaplain (BG) John M. Owings, Jr. (RET) US Army will officiate. Mrs. Eddie, the daughter of the late Henry Cox and Emma Tackett Thornton, was born April 5, 1930, in Sylacauga, Alabama. Her husband of forty-two years, James Eddie, Sr. and her son, James Eddie, Jr. preceded her in death. She was employed as a caregiver. Survivors include her sister, Catherine Floyd of Hawkinsville, Georgia, brother, Edward Wayne Barron of Sylacauga, Alabama, eight nieces and nephews. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
