Jo Ann Shumate High Falls . . . Jo Ann Shumate died Friday, February 8, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at First Baptist Church of High Falls with burial in the church cemetery. The Reverend Jeff Giddens will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 11, 2013, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Shumate, the daughter of the late Rex Sanders and Cora Belle Robertson Sanders, was born July 20, 1960, in Los Angeles, California. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Guy Shumate of High Falls, children, Tiffany (Kenneth) Garner of Forsyth, Don Disotell of Louisiana, Melissa (James) Richmond of Ft. Oglethorpe, step-daughter, Amanda (Danny) Young of Louisiana, step-son, Gregory Shumate of Marietta, sisters, Teresa Page, Carmen Sanders Anderson, Pam Sanders McDaniel, Veronica Sanders Robertson, Loretta Sanders Toole and Deborah Sanders Mathis, brothers, Joseph Edward Sanders and Rex Allen Sanders and eighteen grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to First Baptist Church of High Falls, 4408 High Falls Road, Jackson, GA 30233. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
