Rev. Robin Marvin McLeroy

Forsyth . . . . At 11:00 am January 31, 2013, Robin McLeroy heard the voice of his Shepard calling him home.The family will receive visitors Friday, February 1, 2013, at 6:00 p.m.until 8:00 p.m., at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013, at 3pm at Cabanniss Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Robin and his wife Willene have been members of Peoples Baptist Church of McDonough, Ga. Their pastors Rev. David McCoy and Rev. Ray Turner will officiate. There will be a private family gathering at the grave site officiated by Rev. Mark Grinstead.
Robin attended Auburn University in 1942, Bryan Bible College from 1949-1950 and Tennessee Temple Bible School from 1950 to 1953. He was a retired missionary to Japan, serving there from 1952 to 1972. He and Willene planted three churches in Japan which are still spreading the Good News of the Gospel, Hachiogi Kristo Kiokai (1955), Kawagoe Saisho Kiokai (1963) and Kamifufuoka Kristo Kiokai (1968). He was also the Pastor of Cabaniss Baptist Church in Forsyth, GA from 1975 to 2005, where he continued to lead singing there until 2006. He was a veteran of World War II, March 1943 - March 1946, Army Air Corps Serving with 8th Fighter Group, 5th Air Force in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was awarded The American Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Willene Suarez McLeroy of Forsyth, children, Wren Cambron McLeory Davis (Paul) of Dublin, Ohio, Grace Ellen McLeroy Johnson (Glen) of Forsyth, and Robin Alice McLeroy Sears (Jay) Macon, grandchildren, Melanie Wren Gold (Michael), Stephanie Gene Hampton, Bryan Davis (Tanja), Katie Davis, Tyler Clark Brewer, Erin Danielle Richmond, Windy Jaclene Richmond, Jamie Harris Sears III (Brooke) and Robert David Sears and eight great grandchidlren.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
