Alexander Stephen Hardage, Jr.
Forsyth . . . Alexander Stephen Hardage, Jr. died Thursday, January 31, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013, at First Baptist Church with burial in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Dr. H. Darrell Watson and Reverend Brian Moore will officiate. The family will greet friends from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the funeral at First Baptist Church.
Mr. Hardage, the son of the late Alexander Stephen Hardage, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Sanders Hardage was born July 23, 1923, in Jones County, Georgia. His sister, Hilda Merle Hardage preceded him in death. He was retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base and was a veteran of the United States Marines, serving during World War II in Pacific Theater and the Korean War. He was a member of First Baptist Church, a Mason, having received his 60 year pin and was a member of the Scottish Rite.
Survivors include his wife of sixty five years, Grace Hencely Hardage, daughters, Sandra (JT) Bunn and Candice Griffin all of Forsyth, grandchildren, Eric Bunn of Forsyth, Gregg Bunn of Franklin, Tennessee, Matt (Nicole) Griffin of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Kelli (Dan) Banister of Rome, Georgia, great grandchildren, Brinnon Banister, Gregory Bunn, Preston Banister, Blake Bunn, Maggie Banister and Cale Griffin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice Advantage, 3902 Northside Drive, Suite B3, Macon, GA 31210 or to First Baptist Church 95 West Morse Street, Forsyth, GA 31029.
