Thelma Ruth Head Brooks Atlanta . . . Thelma Ruth Head Brooks went to be home with our Lord and Savior on 12/23/2012, very peacefully, in Laurel Park Nursing Home. Born in Atlanta on 4/27/1917, she had many friends and a wonderful life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Marion Thaxton Brooks. Thelma leaves behind three daughters, Patricia Channel and husband, Jack Nation, Betty Brannan and Willard Shelton, Becki Brooks Pozio, and loving sister, Louise Pall. Her grandchildren, Cindy Douglas, Jimmy and Molly Channel, David and Amy Channel and Melonie and Terry Almengual. She also has 13 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012, at 2:00 pm, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, 86 W. Main St., Forsyth, GA with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. The Reverend Darwin Caldwell will officiate. The family will greet friends from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm in the Chapel prior to the service. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
