George Ham Williamson, Sr.
Forsyth . . . George Ham Williamson, Sr. died Thursday, November 29, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Rocky Creek Baptist Church with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. The Reverend Scott Harrell and The Reverend Jerry Pitman will officiate. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Williamson, the son of the late John Benjamin Williamson, Sr. and Irene Ham Williamson was born February 22, 1939, in Dublin, Georgia. He was a 1959 graduate of Mary Persons High School and was previously employed with William Carter Company and Trio Manufacturing. He was a member and former deacon of Rocky Creek Baptist Church and a former member of the Georgia Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Maddox Williamson of Forsyth, children, Lucy (Don) Etheridge of Forsyth, Linda (Rodney) Anderson of Forsyth and George (Gail) Williamson, Jr. of Swainsboro, six grandchildren, Clay (Amy) Etheridge of Forsyth, Desty Anderson of Forsyth, Austin T. Anderson of Forsyth, Summer Tisdale of Forsyth, Alex Williamson of Forsyth and Jason Mordew of South Dakota, one great grandson, Landon McRee of Forsyth.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 225 Rocky Creek Baptist Church Road, Forsyth, GA 31029.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
