Hershel Elzie Cantrell Forsyth . . . Hershel Elzie Cantrell died Saturday, November 3, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Monroe Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Jimmy Corbitt will officiate. The family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mr. Cantrell, the son of the late Joseph Elzie and Orbleen Morton Cantrell was born December 9, 1942, in Jasper, Alabama. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the Georgia Army National Guard. Survivors include his wife of forty-six years, Brenda Cantrell of Forsyth, son, Steven (Angie) Cantrell of Culloden, three grandchildren, Autumn, Amber and Ashley Cantrell, brothers, Leon (Peggy) Cantrell of Orrville, Alabama and Gordon Cantrell of Jasper, Alabama, sister, Barbara (Ronald) Walker of Jasper, Alabama, brother in law, Ronald (Kathy) Henslee of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, special nephew, Ron (Roseann) Henslee, Jr. and several other nephews, nieces, cousins and aunt, Bobbie Appling of Bolingbroke, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Bethany Baptist Church Building Fund, Post Office Box 539, Bolingbroke, GA 31004 or to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
