Charles Edwin Collins
Forsyth, GA - Charles Edwin Collins, 83, quietly passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Pine Pointe Hospice of Central Georgia in Macon. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 Friday, September 21, 2012, at Forsyth City Cemetery. The Reverend Ricky Shepherd and Dwight Curtis will officiate. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Collins was born in Decatur, Georgia on January 16, 1929, the son of George Reese Collins and Annie Joye Coppedge Collins.
Mr. Collins was an eagle scout, and graduated from Mary Persons High School in 1945; graduated from the University of Georgia in 1948, and was an accomplished businessman.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; daughters Claudia (Bob) Shumaker, Charla Rizzuto, and Carol Collins of Panama City Beach, Florida; son Aaron (Melanie) Collins of Forsyth, Georgia; brother, Dr. William (Jan) Collins of Sandy Springs, Georgia; granddaughters Betsy (Bill) Hughes of Lynn Haven, Florida, Courtney (Frank) Adkinson of Ft. Hood, Texas, Ashlyn and Alivia Collins of Forsyth, Georgia; grandsons, J. Rayne Rizzuto and Collin Rizzuto of Panama City Beach, Florida; great grandchildren, Morgan and Janie Hughes of Lynn Haven, Florida and Ansley, Sawyer, and Robert Eli Adkinson of Ft. Hood, Texas.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice of Central Georgia, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210, or Rock Springs Christian Academy in Milner, Georgia or Melba House c/o Rock Springs Methodist Church in Milner, Georgia.
