Nell Brown Mitchell

Nell Brown Mitchell went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Culloden Baptist Church with burial in Culloden City Cemetery. Pastor Albert C. Parker will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Mitchell, the daughter of the late Julius Lee Brown Sr. and Mattie Lou Mixon Brown was born July 9, 1928, in Macon, Georgia. Her husband, George Tyler Mitchell, Sr. and her grandchildren, Kim Lockman and Tracy Holcomb preceded her in death. She retired from Monroe County Health Department as a registered nurse. Mrs. Mitchell was an active member of Culloden Baptist Church, serving on several committees and was very active in the Culloden community serving as a health care provider. Survivors include her children, Michael L. (Paula) Mitchell of Macon, George Tyler Mitchell, Jr. and Linda Maddox of Culloden, Robert Lee (Melissa) Mitchell of Reynolds and Marianne M. (Harvey) Ellis of High Falls, grandchildren, Lanney Mitchell of Macon, Luke (Frances) Mitchell of Florida, Leighanne Mitchell of Forsyth, Ty (Kristie) Mitchell, III of Culloden, Amy (Charlie) Grimsley of Lawrenceville, Jonathan Mitchell of Musella, Garrett Mitchell of Culloden, Chanda (David) Dake of Germany, Amanda (Kyle) Barfield of Perry, Nash and Wesley Murph of Reynolds, great grandchildren, Kayleigh and Charley Ryles, Haley and Hunter Holcomb, J.T. and Jamie Mitchell, Brandon and Brody Dake, Konrad Barfield and Molly Mitchell Grimsley, sister in law, Jewel Brown of Macon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Culloden Baptist Church, 2324 Mt. Carmel Road, Culloden, GA 31016 Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
