Ruth Ann Atkinson Forsyth . . . Ruth Ann Atkinson died Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park, 6841 Tara Blvd., Jonesboro, Georgia. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Atkinson, the daughter of the late Kelos and Jennie Arrington Bennett was born July 31, 1920, in Atlanta, Georgia. Her husband, Samuel Jackson Atkinson, preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her children, Michael (Diane) Atkinson of Locust Grove, Linda (Jimmy) Warren of Forsyth, Ralph (Vanessa) Atkinson of Forsyth and Cheryl (Randy) Whatley of Forsyth, sister, Evelyn Morgan of Hapeville, eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
