Richard E. “Sonny” Ross Lakeland, Florida . . . Richard E. “Sonny” Ross died Thursday, July 19, 2012. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, 86 West Main Street, Forsyth, Georgia 31029 with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home. Mr. Ross was born February 26, 1953. His father, Slim Ross, his mother, Effie Thompson, his stepfather, Ed Thompson, his sister, Pattie Miller, his brother, Ronald McCoy and his niece Kristin LaReau preceded him in death. He was a retired automobile salesman. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Anne Ross of Lakeland, Florida, daughter, Sandra Ross of Smyrna, Tennessee, stepchildren, Roeya Langman of Valrico, Florida, Shanna Rojas of Tampa, Florida and Rez Khosh of Lakeland, Florida, sisters, Linda LaReau of Macon, Doris Buffington of Macon and Olivia McCoy of Nevada, brothers, Earl Thompson of Macon, Ted Thompson of Lizella, Lucius Thompson of Modesto, California and Gary McCoy of California and nine grandchildren. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
