Martha Eunice Duggan Murray Forsyth . . . . Martha Eunice Duggan (Mrs. Jack B) Murray, 92, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012, at her residence in Forsyth. She was born on May 23, 1920, in Brunswick to the late Maury Lee and Nelle Arnold Duggan. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Jack Bittick Murray, Sr. Visitation will be held at the Monroe County Memorial Chapel on Saturday, June 16, from 3 until 5 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for the First Baptist Church of Forsyth on Sunday, June 17, at 2 PM with graveside following at the Forsyth City Cemetery. Dr. Dan Whitaker and Dr. H. Darrell Watson will officiate. Martha Eunice is survived by one son: Jack B Murray, Jr., of Fairfax, VA; three daughters: Betty Murray (Brent) Green of St. Mary’s, GA, Nelle Murray (Tommy) Ivey and Jennie Murray (Mike) Dodd of Forsyth. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Stephanie Murray (Russ) Schwartzman of Flanders, NJ; Bettina Murray (Kevin Tierney) of Thompsons Station, TN; Devin (Shana) Murray of East Mesa, AZ; Michael (Melissa) Moore of Payson, AZ; April Moore (Brad) Jones of Kingsland, GA; Chris (Jill Lancaster) Ivey of Forsyth; Jay (Kim) Ivey of High Falls; Ernie (Jill Mallory) Dodd of Madison, WI; Jon Eric (Kim) Dodd of Macon; and Corbin Dodd of Forsyth. With pride and a smile, she often bragged about her 16 great-grandchildren. Martha Eunice was involved in numerous community activities including DAR, Monroe County Historical Society, Friends of the Library, and Women’s Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Forsyth and of the Joy Sunday School class. She enjoyed working with the UDC Cabaniss Chapter # 415 where she served as the local president 3 times and held a lifetime position as honorary president of the Georgia Division. She was a retired school teacher and a Tift College alumnus. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Forsyth First Baptist Church Building Fund, 95 West Morse Street, Forsyth, GA 31029. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
