Mrs. Sue Carol Childs Fowler, of Newnan, passed peacefully with her children by her side, on April 11, 2012, at the age of 69 following a brief battle with cancer. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas S. Fowler, and her parents Mildred Stewart and David Jack Childs, Sr., she is survived by her children, D. A longtime employee of Stephenson Chemical Company in College Park, Mrs. Fowler retired from the AAOHN in 2008. Affectionately known as “Grams” to her three granddaughters, she enjoyed everything that had anything to do with her family and was a frequent visitor to Forsyth. Her heart never left her hometown. During her lifetime, Mrs. Fowler visited all fifty of the United States and a crowning achievement of hers was a road trip across the country she took last summer with her grandchildren that saw her finally get to that fiftieth state – North Dakota. Funeral Services for Mrs. Fowler will be held at 6:00pm, Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Forsyth United Methodist Church, with Reverend Ken Stephens officiating; interment to follow at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Monroe County Memorial Chapel Sunday afternoon before the funeral from 3pm until 5pm.
