Phelps Stuart, Jr. Forsyth . . . Phelps Stuart, Jr., died Saturday, March 17, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 19, 2012, at Forsyth City Cemetery. The Reverend Mike McMullan will officiate. The family will greet friends from 3 until 5 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mr. Stuart, the son of the late Willie Phelps (Doc) Stuart, Sr. and Sarah May Stuart was born October 27, 1929, in Forsyth Georgia. His wife of fifty four years, Bobbie Chappell Stuart preceded him in death. He was retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. Mr. Phelps was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his children, Janet (George) Pierson of Culloden and Shirley Stuart of Forsyth, brother, Glynn (Linda) Stuart of Macon, grandchildren, Karen Stuart of Forsyth, Lee Pierson and Catherine Pierson of Culloden. The family requests no flowers but suggests donations to Garden Hill Baptist Church, 88 Vining Street, Forsyth, GA 31029.
