Janet Carolyn Mathews Forsyth . . . Janet Carolyn Stanton Mathews died March 14, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 16,2012,at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Jody Barfield and The Reverend Ken Stephens will officiate Mrs. Mathews, the daughter of the late Julian Edward Stanton and Florence Van Valkenburg Stanton, was born March 1, 1920. Her husband, Joseph Alvin Mathews preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her children, Nancy E. Mathews of Forsyth and Kathy (Rick) Barfield of Forsyth, grandchildren, Leigh Hanson, Jody Barfield, Matt (Jennifer) Barfield, Curt (Christina) Barfield, great grandchildren, Samantha Fowler, Morgan Fowler, Emiley Hanson, Wesley Hanson and Madeline Barfield. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Forsyth United Methodist Church, 68 W Johnston Street, Forsyth, GA 31029 or to Cystic Fibrosis, Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, 2nd Floor, Bethesda, Maryland 20814. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
