Margaret Linda Caudell Smith
Forsyth . . . Margaret Linda Caudell Smith, filled with God’s grace, left us on the morning of March 9, 2012. She loved and was loved more than words can express. Services and burial will be private. The family will greet friends from 2 until 3 p.m., Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
The daughter of John Travis “J.T.” Caudell and Stella Boyko Caudell, she was born on April 2, 1948 in Clarkesville, Georgia. Margaret was the second of three children, Lorraine Reznoff, her older sister, and Larry Allen Caudell, Alto, Georgia, her much loved younger brother. She was preceded in death by her father and sister.
A child of the 50’s, she enjoyed, “Davy Crockett”, Roy Rogers, and “The Rifleman.” Her favorite book from this period was “The Strawberry Girl” by Lois Lenski. Her favorite movie of all time, was Walt Disney’s
“Sleeping Beauty.” Many of Margaret’s happiest memories took place with her paternal grandparents and siblings in Cornelia, Georgia.
Margaret was a graduate of Tift College. She then worked for DFACS in Crawford County for seventeen years. During this time, she gave birth to her beloved sons, Donald and Derek Smith, Forsyth, Georgia.
She spent the last sixteen years working for the Best Western Hilltop Garden Inn, where she was loved and appreciated by many.
Other loved ones include her two granddaughters, Amber and Carey Smith, nieces Carol and Lisa Cown, siblings in law Lewis and Barbara Smith Cown, and numerous friends from her workplace and life.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
