Lucy Elizabeth Johnson Faulkner Rogers
Forsyth . . . Lucy Elizabeth Johnson Faulkner Rogers, better known as “Miss Lucy”, a lifetime resident of Monroe County, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012. She is best remembered for the care she ministered to our sick and elderly in Monroe County Hospital and later in Hilltop Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012 at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. The Reverend Franklin Etheridge will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Lucy was born September 23, 1931, in Monroe County, goes to join her mother and father, Artie Elizabeth Bernard Johnson and Henry Cleom “Cline” Johnson, her brothers, Lewis, Marion and Horace Johnson, her husbands, Robert Van Faulkner Sr. and Fred Rogers and her son Thomas Daniel Faulkner, Sr.
Survivors include her brother, George O. (Derue) Johnson of Jacksonville, Arkansas, children, Scott Alan (Rita) Faulkner of Orlando, Florida, and Robert Van (Faye) Faulkner, Jr. of Forsyth, , grandsons, Thomas Daniel (Amber) Faulkner Jr., David Alan Faulkner, Stephan Nicholas Faulkner and Matthew Robert Faulkner, great grandsons, Horace Clay Tyner and Thomas Daniel Faulkner III.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to the American Cancer Society, Monroe County Unit, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
