Gertrude Speir Bryant

Juliette . . . . Gertrude Speir Bryant died Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m., Friday, November 18, 2011, at East Juliette Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Reverend Henry Brooks will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Bryant, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Lucy Lee Cornwell Speir, was born January 29, 1922. Her husband, Herschel Z. Bryant, her sons, Bobby Lee Bryant and Billy H. Bryant, her brother, Comer L. (Mutt) Speir and her sister, Helen Stuart, preceded her in death. She was retired from Bibb Manufacturing Company and was a member of East Juliette Baptist Church. Survivors include her sisters, Lois Wallace of Warner Robins, Nonie (Tommy) Hunnicutt of Forsyth, brothers, Ben “Popcorn” (Judy) Speir of Juliette and Leon “Monk” (Evelyn) Speir of Forsyth. The family may be contacted at the residence of Jason Speir, 11986 Hwy 87, Juliette, Georgia. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
