Forsyth . . . Steve Thomas Martin, Sr. died Thursday, November 24, 2011. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mr. Martin, the son of the late Samuel Thomas Martin and Jewel James Martin was born November 29, 1931, in Forsyth, Georgia. His wife, Jeanette Jackson Martin, his grandchildren, Robert Raymond Martin and Alexis Langston preceded him in death. He was retired from the oil and gasoline industry and was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War. Survivors include his children, Esther Martin of Acworth and Steve (Lynn) Martin, Jr. of Forsyth, sisters, Kathryn (Harold) Daniels of Thomaston, Alma Harper of Forsyth and Brenda White of Moultrie, grandchildren, Kevin Langston of Forsyth, Jeffery Langston of Forsyth, Rhonda Roberson of Euharlee, Georgia and Jennifer Martin of Forsyth and eight great-grandchildren. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
