Robert Edwin Cass

Juliette . . . Robert Edwin Cass died at his home Thursday, January 5, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Maynard Baptist Church with burial in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Reverend Johnny Hood and Reverend Jay Moore will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mr. Cass, the son of the late Houston Cass and Kathaleen Novella Payne Cass was born February 7, 1943, in Athens, Tennessee. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Viet Nam. Mr. Cass was a member of Maynard Baptist Church, a member of the DAV and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Martha Starr Cass of Juliette, children, Houston Karl (Charlene) Cass of Juliette, Kathy Lynn (Keith) Cooper, Jr. of McDonough and Gini Cass (Dave) Seitz of Juliette, sisters Virginia Jo (Richard) Taylor of Raleigh, NC and Jane Ann (Wendell) Maupin of Cleveland, TN, brother, James (Brenda) Cass of Cleveland, TN, grandchildren, John Wallace Graham, III, Houston Kyle Cass, Zachary Keith Cooper, Robert Evan Cass, Halie Brook Seitz, Cadi Ashlyn Seitz and Kylie Leigh Seitz and great grandchild, Christian Jade Graham. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Maynard Baptist Church, PO Box 576, Forsyth, GA 31029 or to the Monroe County Veterans Memorial, PO Box 766, Forsyth, GA 31029. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
