VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTEForsyth . . . Charles A. Edge, the sweetest man in our world went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 15, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at New Providence Baptist Church with burial in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Reverend Brian Moore and Dr. H. Darrell Watson will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Edge, the son of the late John Thomas Edge and Elleen Bowdoin Edge was born November 27, 1926, in Forsyth, Georgia. His wife of forty-six years and the Mother of his children, Helen Banks Edge, his wife, Jane White Herndon Edge, and his grandchildren, Bobby Speight and Jonathan Shane Edge, preceded him in death. He was retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base and was a veteran of the United States Army, a veteran of the United States Navy and a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. Mr. Edge was a member of New Providence Baptist Church, a member of Woodmen of the World and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his children, Donnie Edge of Forsyth, Jerry (Ann) Edge of Covington, Debra Holland of Forsyth, Kathy (Bill) Starr of Forsyth, Sandra (Eddie) Buice of Forsyth and Keith (Celeste) Edge of Forsyth, stepson, Phillip (Kathy) Herndon of Forsyth, sisters, Myrtice Herndon of Forsyth and Nita Smith of Forsyth, ten grandchildren, six step grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and sixteen step great grandchildren.
